Festivals in Islam

Islam means obedience, in accordance with the will of Allah. Obedience to Allah is essential with heart and soul and also at the time of death. Islam is the word that comes out originally from the root word “Salaam” which means peace. Muslims covers 1/5th of the world’s population or more. Islam provides a complete way of life for its followers or believers. Its belief system is based on logical reasoning, rituals, and a moral code that covers every action that a Muslim takes in their life.
Islam is not a faith to believe blindly only to perform rituals and actions for no reason and with no explanation. Muslims believe that all the hard work that Allah asks them to do or refrain from doing are solely for the benefits of humankind. The  Muslims, generally believe that following the complete way of life which is taught by Islam is the only way to attain real happiness in this life and hereafter as well.

History of Islam:

The religion Islam flourished when Prophet Muhammad migrated from Makkah to Madina, the city Madina was previously known as Yasrub, but after migration, the citizen changed and called it Madina means “the city of Nabi”. These people of Madina later called as Ansar means be lovers of Nabi. They use to celebrate carnivals & festivity from the time of their ancestors. Prophet Muhammad told them God has appointed two other and better days celebrating the joyous days of life are Eid-ul-Fitr & Eid-ul-Adha.
Eidain:
It is the plural word for both the Muslims festivals, the root word for it “aada” means the joyous day that came after the grief and lots of hardship. The first celebration begins right after the holy month of Ramazan and is meant for breaking of fasting. The eid is known as eid-ul-Fitr and is celebrated on 1st of Shawwal, which is the tenth month of Hijri calendar.
Another festivity is celebrated on 10th of zil-hajjah; it is 12th month of the Islamic calendar, after performing the religious activity of Hajj in different phases. The followers of Islam sacrifice animals to showing their willingness to Almighty. It is in a way of recalling the great sacrifice of Hazarat Ibrahim to his son Ismael that was replaced by a heavenly lamb. Hence many of the rituals are followed during Hajj are the historical events of both prophet Ibrahim & his son Ismael and in relation to them, Eid-ul-Adha is celebrated by the Muslims.
There are certain common activities that are normally performed by the Muslim during these days. Keeping the tradition of Prophet Muhammad, Muslims are encouraged to prepare themselves for the occasion of Eid. Some of these activities include early rising especially at fajr time to offer prayers (fajr and Eid). Dressing up neatly, nicely and for girls fancy and colourfully.
Muslims men go to the mosque to offer prayers but girls and elderly ladies either get busy in dressing up them or to involve in cooking tasty dishes for their family members. Also going in beauty parlours like mahrose beauty parlour for look pretty. There are certain types of food being cooked on both occasions. In Eid-ul-Fitr people mainly like to have sweet dishes, like Gulab jaaman, rubri, Eid cakes etc. Whereas Eid-ul-Adha is consisting of the flash of cow or goat and meal prepared by such meat for instance bahari, khatakhat, nihari, etc.
On the contrary, there are certain families usually spend some time out in restaurants to enjoy Eid special deals. This year independence was enclosed with the Eid festivals; therefore, the GoSpark announced some Azadi deals on Pizzas & food Pandas.  That was highly appreciated by the customers while enjoying the restaurants. As they found some deals at GoSpark restaurants in 2019 and saved up to 55 per cent.
