To avail a new PAN card with the old PAN printed on it, the applicant is required to know the original Permanent Account Number (PAN). If the applicant does not remember the PAN, he/she can find it out by following the steps mentioned below:
a reprint of PAN card. The application can be filed online or by visiting the nearest PAN centre.
- Visit www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/home
- Click on ‘Know Your PAN’
- Enter details like name, status, gender, date of birth, and mobile number
- Click ‘Submit’
- Next, enter the OTP sent on the registered mobile number in the corresponding screen
- Click Validate
- The details will be displayed
in the corresponding screen.
To file the application online through NSDL, the applicant needs to follow the steps mentioned below:
- Visit www.tin-nsdl.com
- Go to ‘Services’
- Select ‘PAN’ from the
dropdown menu of ‘Services’ - Click ‘Apply’ under the section of ‘Reprint of PAN card’
On doing so, the applicant is redirected to a new page in a separate window- Next, the applicant needs to select ‘Application Type’ as ‘Changes or Correction in existing PAN Data/ Reprint of PAN Card (No changes in existing PAN Data)’
- Thereafter, the applicant needs to fill in the other details like category, name, Date of Birth (DOB), e-mail ID, mobile number and captcha code
- Next, click on ‘Submit’
On doing so, the applicant will be asked to fill in the other details like gender, Aadhaar number, father’s name as well asked to upload their photo, signature and supporting documents either through e-KYC and e-Sign (Paperless or e-Sign service or send physical documents to the PAN processing office. Proof of the existing PAN card also needs to be provided.- Following that click on ‘Next’
- Make the payment of the fees for the reprinting of the PAN card
- After the payment is made and the documents are submitted successfully, a 15-digit acknowledgement number is provided to the applicant for future use.
