ICICI Bank Instant Credit Cards: Here Is What You Need To Know

ICICI Bank has taken another important step towards building a paperless economy. In the light of the upcoming festive season of Ganesh Chaturthi, ICICI introduced a scheme for its existing customers to avail for a credit card. The usual process would involve waiting for a period of at least 3 to 4 weeks to obtain the physical card. Through this exclusive offer, the bank hopes that its customers can access special deals on purchases and encourage digitized transactions.

How can one apply for an instant credit card?
In order to instantly receive a credit card, the customers can visit the official website ICICI Bank. After following the simple instructions given on the website, one will obtain a card number and a Card Verification Value (CVV). The customer will receive the actual card within a few business days. The credit card application process is simplified. The bank processes its history with the customer along with the income, debt-to-income ratio, credit score and loan repayment history. The sanction of an application is decided based on a quick analysis of these factors.

Unique features of the offer
ICICI has partnered with a string of online merchants to provide exclusive deals to its customers who have availed a credit card. Once the customer has access to the card number and the CVV, they can make easy payments online without having to wait for the actual card. This enables the customers to gain easy access to deals and discounts lined up during the festive season. The customer can receive a credit limit of Rs.4 lakh.

Is it different from regular credit cards?
ICICI has imposed a joining fee on 7 of the 8 instant cards being issue. Features such as annual fee, interest rate and due date for bill payment, are similar to the regular credit cards. However, it is important to distinguish it from ‘Instant Premium Credit Card against Fixed Deposit’, which is provided for customers having a term deposit account at ICICI.
